Approximately 200 business professionals, elected leaders, union leadership and local commerce organizations, packed the Watermill to show support for the Town Supervisors re-election bid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wehrheim introduced Suffolk County Candidate for District Attorney, Ray Tierney, in addition to the Republican slate of officials running for re-election on November 2, 2021. Tierney addressed the room briefly to share his plan for the DA\u2019s office in addition to his experience as a prosecutor who\u2019s tried Colombian drug cartel cases, white-collar crime, public corruption, and MS-13 racketeering cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ed Wehreim spoke to the success of his first term in office as Town Supervisor, touching on his many victories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI began my first day in office by uniting the administration to rebuild Smithtown, so we could restore our parks, preserve open space and revitalize our downtowns together\u2026 and that\u2019s just what we\u2019ve done in these short three and half years.\u00a0 We\u2019ve made great progress over the first term, but there is still much to be done. With the completion of the Master Plan, we have a roadmap to the future, designed to preserve open space, expand our parks system and protect residential neighborhoods. Additionally, we plan to build new athletic fields and playgrounds for people with disabilities,\u00a0 attract our young workforce back home and retain our seniors\u2026 Covid-19 has left people in our community in need to be made whole again.
