Ed Wehrheim’s Annual Business Luncheon

Annual Business Luncheon a Huge Success

Ed Wehrheim kicked off his fundraising efforts with a full house on June 23rd, 2021. Approximately 200 business professionals, elected leaders, union leadership and local commerce organizations, packed the Watermill to show support for the Town Supervisors re-election bid.

Wehrheim introduced Suffolk County Candidate for District Attorney, Ray Tierney, in addition to the Republican slate of officials running for re-election on November 2, 2021. Tierney addressed the room briefly to share his plan for the DA’s office in addition to his experience as a prosecutor who’s tried Colombian drug cartel cases, white-collar crime, public corruption, and MS-13 racketeering cases.

Ed Wehreim spoke to the success of his first term in office as Town Supervisor, touching on his many victories.

“I began my first day in office by uniting the administration to rebuild Smithtown, so we could restore our parks, preserve open space and revitalize our downtowns together… and that’s just what we’ve done in these short three and half years.  We’ve made great progress over the first term, but there is still much to be done. With the completion of the Master Plan, we have a roadmap to the future, designed to preserve open space, expand our parks system and protect residential neighborhoods. Additionally, we plan to build new athletic fields and playgrounds for people with disabilities,  attract our young workforce back home and retain our seniors… Covid-19 has left people in our community in need to be made whole again. We must not lose focus on the priority to rebuild lives, small business owners, and local organizations.” – Ed Wehrheim
