Wehrheim Endorsed by Local 138

The International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 138, has officially endorsed Ed Wehrheim for his re-election campaign, Founded in 1938, Local 138 has over 1500 members and is a charted local union for the International Union of Operating Engineers.

The endorsement letter cites overwhelming support for Ed Wehrheim’s reelection campaign for his pro-worker track record. Wehrheim expressed his deepest gratitude for the endorsement as well as his promise for the future. 

“I’m humbled by this endorsement and look forward to delivering even more in the future for the men and women of labor.  The work we did together with the talented 138 labor force along Lake Avenue was a good start. I plan to improve legislation at a local level in the coming year, to help with the Apprenticeship Training Program for Construction Contracts. Additionally, we are moving forward with infrastructure projects like the Kings Park Sewer construction, which will undoubtedly add jobs in Smithtown.
